After trying to make my own Halloween costume last year I am woefully aware of my lack of sewing skills. Picked this book up to help remedy the situation. I like it because it goes in to great detail on everything a beginner like me needs to know. The book goes over the main parts of the sewing machine and how to use them, and includes pictures to help the reader avoid confusion! Definitely recommend to people who want to make their own Halloween costume this year!
I would suggest this book to people of all ages wishing to learn how to sew. The steps and tips are simply, easy to follow and they actually work. I did it with my daughter and the result was really good even though neither of us had any proper experience with sewing.Sewing is actually great fun once you get starter, and options are pretty much unlimited in terms of what you want to do. And at the same time you’re learning yourself or teaching someone else a new skill.

Sewing has never been my forte, but I do have this machine safely tucked away in a closet and when I saw this book, I thought, why not? Quality table settings are quite expensive these days and I do like to gussy up my table when guests come to dinner. Sewing for beginners was perfect for me. Over the weekend I picked up some inexpensive quality end of roll fabric and quickly made up 8 place mats, a table runner and matching napkins using the instructions in this book. I must say - I was super pleased and even my husband remarked on how nice the settings looked.This book will not have you sewing up a storm and a whole new wardrobe any time soon. It is good for beginners and who knows, maybe I'll stitch up a loose fitting top this coming weekend. I am so stoked with the possibilities!
I enjoyed this book because of the photos that shows what the text describes. It was very easy to read fast and understand something that was all new to me.
