As a book lover and long-time member of a book club, I thoroughly enjoyed this book related to books and recipes that would have been served in the course of the action of the books. This book has caused me to purchase several other books related to the same theme.
This book was very interesting. I actually gave it as a gift at my Mystery Book Club Christmas. It was a White Elephant gift and everyone in the club wanted it. It was a used copy and it had been signed by author to person who bought it, so I did not feel I could give it as a new great gift even though it was in like new condition. It was perfect for a white elephant gift and like I said, everyone in the club wanted it.
I gave this book as a gift and the person who received it loved it. She said the recipes are good and she enjoyed reading the stories. She plans to also give as a gift to someone.
Need lots of bookmarks/post-it notes to keep track of the books and recipes you'll want to read and make. Great idea! Are there going to be sequals?
As others have stated, one doesn't have to be a cook OR a lover of classic literature to appreciate this book. It can serve as a great cookbook OR as a great read. Either way, I'd recommend setting aside an entire afternoon before opening it. This is not a book for perusing. Open it anywhere and you won't want to put it down.
Got this as a gift and have flipped through the recipes. There's paragraphs of literature interspersed throughout the book among the recipes, so they're really integrated into the book and it's overall well-formatted. Looking forward to trying out the recipes with family and friends!
